On January 10, 2020, the public welfare training on UDI system for medical devices, sponsored by GS1 China, undertaken by Beijing Institute of Standardization and co-organized by Beijing Chamber of Medical Devices, was successfully held in Beijing. This training focused on how to implement UDI system based on GS1 standard for medical device manufacturers and hospitals, and in-depth discussion and sharing was conducted with representatives of participating enterprises on issues such as UDI regulatory standards, GS1 standard, product identification, UDI data symbol quality requirements, UDI data management and sharing, and implementation experience of enterprises and hospitals.

Li Jianhui, chief engineer of GS1 China, and Cheng Jie, director of the registration Administration of Beijing Drug Administration attended the meeting. Li Jianhui, chief engineer of GS1 China, delivered a speech at the meeting. Nearly 600 representatives of medical device enterprises from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei region attended the training.

The training includes keynote speech and on-site Q&A. In the keynote speech, experts from the Medical Device Standards Management Institute of The China Food and Drug Administration made a keynote report on "Introduction and Implementation Recommendations of the Unique Medical Device Labeling System". Application promotion Department, quality inspection Department and product development and Operation Department of GS1 China respectively Shared contents such as "UDI system Implementation based on GS1 standard", "UDI data Symbol Quality Requirements" and "UDI data management and sharing". Experts from China Medical Device Industry Association medical Device Internet of Things Management Committee, North Jiangsu People's Hospital and BD Company also delivered speeches on "The value of UDI in the transformation and upgrading of medical device industry", "The application of UDI in the management of reagents and consumables" and "UDI Implementation enterprise experience sharing". 

Representatives of solution providers Beijing Jawa Huicheng Technology Co., Ltd., Domino and Heyi Network Technology respectively introduced "how manufacturers implement UDI", "UDI production line transformation and code implementation experience" and "UDI application for production enterprises, operating enterprises and medical institutions to achieve business collaboration". Answer questions on the spot and give specific guidance on how to implement UDI system.

In order to enable enterprises to use UDI and make good use of UDI, GS1 China will hold 12 UDI based on GS1 to implement public welfare training throughout the country in 2020. Everyone is welcome to pay attention and participate!
